Settling In

Have you ever tried to spend time with God but you just couldn’t shut off your brain? It’s like your thoughts bounce all over the place and you can’t concentrate.

The reality is being present to God can be challenging. That’s why we believe that before we spend time with God, it’s best to take a few minutes to let our body, mind, and soul quiet down.  At Seek Well, we do this through a practice that we call Settling.

Before you begin your retreat, orient yourself to the last month of your life with a some lite “pre-work”.

Pre-work Instructions

Take 10 minutes to look back over the last month of your life.

  1. Get a journal so you can write down any thoughts you might have in this retreat.

  2. Think of the high moments and low moments from the last 30 days. When one of these moments come to mind, write it down and the emotion you felt around it.

  3. If you need help jogging your memory, review the pictures on your phone (only for the the last 30 days).

  4. If you keep a calendar or journal, look back over your activities from the last 30 days, looking for the high and low moments.

Once you complete you pre-work, press play to get started.
